The launch of Mahindra Thar 5-door is just around the corner. It is speculated to hit the market somewhere on 15 August 2-24 Ahead of the official release, the off-roader has been spied on multiple times during the testing, giving a complete idea about the upcoming updates. Now, fresh spy shots surfaced on the internet, clearing all the doubts about its cabin and space.
Here’s What to Expect
As per the spy shots, the upcoming Thar 5-door will flaunt a similar look as the ongoing Thar 3-door. However, it will be bigger in size, wider, featuring 5-door, which makes it more practical than ever.
Top Updates
Despite being fully covered in heavy camouflage, the vehicle features updated alloy wheels, an improved LED headlight at the front, paired with round-shaped DRLs, indicators on fenders at both sides, and a footrest with heavy cladding on the sides among other notable elements.
What’s New Inside
The leaked images also show the fully transformed interior. The model now gets a more premium feel inside the cabin, offering the customers a long list of robust features. The list includes armrests for both sides front and rear passengers, rear AC vents, usable luggage area among others. Even the legroom has been improved, all thanks to the extended wheelbase.
Now customers can expect a bigger free-standing 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, which will be supported by all the wireless car connect technology including Android, Auto and Apple CarPlay.
For the driver side, it will get a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, providing all the vehicle-related details. Apart from this, a multi-function steering wheel with chunkier mounted control buttons, a decent-sized sunroof, push-button start, auto headlights, and rain-sensing wipers and Level-2 ADAS feature will be there to attract more customers this time.
Engine Options and Expected Price
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the 5-door Thar will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The former will offer 2-litre turbo unit, while the latter use a 2.2-litre. When it comes to the price, the model is expected to feature a price tag of Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base trim.
