Tata Motors is currently concentrating on the Curvv after completing the releases of two successful blockbusters, Harrier and Safari.
It is a coupe Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) by Tata Motors that is aimed at the C-SUV market. The Tata Curvv is scheduled to be launched by early 2024. Several intriguing features regarding the Tata Curvv have been made public by test mules that have been found in recent months. There is now evidence of a head-up display device in a design patent. In addition, the manufacturing variant is probably going to be released soon.
It’s encouraging to see Tata working on adding a wide range of features to Curvv. Matching capabilities will be possible thanks to a head-up display (HUD), since other small SUVs like the Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos already feature one. While the Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and MG Astor are the vehicles without this function. Also, the Curvv will be the first Tata vehicle with a HUD if the production model has this feature, reports state.
What Is A Head-Up Display?
The HUD device is shown behind Curvv’s steering wheel in the design patent. It will be a reflection-based HUD that will show information on a specially built glass panel. A reflection-based HUD is inexpensive and requires no complicated calibration. In this technology, a portion of the windscreen is carefully coated to serve as a display screen. The information is shown via LED lights or lasers.
Not only is a head-up display handy, but it also increases safety. Because the HUD is immediately in the driver’s line of sight, it reduces the number of times the driver has diverted their gaze away from the road. It may display a variety of data, including RPM, speed, AC function, fuel efficiency, warning alerts, time, gear position, turn-by-turn navigation, and so on. HUD units can also be customised to meet the needs of the user.
Tata Curvv: Powertrains
Curvv will be offered with both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric powertrains. It will be interesting to see which version gets released first. At this moment, no information on the electric powertrain is known.
The SUV, on the other hand, may have a range of roughly 500 km, as per reports. Curvv ICE variants might make use of Nexon powertrain choices. Reportedly, it has a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Curvv may potentially receive Tata’s new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 125 bhp and 225 Nm, reports state.
