Dharmendra’s Vintage Photo With Iranian Dancer Is Trending
An old photograph of Dharmendra hugging an Iranian dancer during his initial days in the film industry has gone viral on Reddit.

The veteran actor Dharmendra requires no introduction. Even at 88, Dharmendra refuses to give up on acting. He recently made a short yet memorable cameo appearance in director Karan Johar’s blockbuster film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, headlined by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Despite not being in the limelight for a long time now, old pictures and videos of Dharmendra often go viral. Recently, a vintage photograph of the Sholay actor sharing the same frame with an Iranian dancer during his younger days is widely circulating on social media, grabbing the attention of the masses.

The black and white picture with grainy details first surfaced on the social news aggregation platform Reddit. It captured Dharmendra hugging the Iranian dancer from behind while the woman had her arms wrapped around the actor’s neck. Both sported beaming smiles on their faces. The woman was dressed in a traditional dancing attire, which comprised a bralette and a thigh-high slit skirt. Dharmendra donned a suit. The photo was presumably dug out from an old newspaper article.

Speaking of Dharmendra, the actor made his Bollywood debut with director Arjun Hingorani’s 1960 film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. The film was a box-office hit and Dharmendra did not have to look back ever since. Some of his cinematic ventures that are still remembered today include Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Dharam Veer, Dream Girl, and Chupke Chupke among others. Some of his most recent movies are Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Apne.

After Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Dharmendra will next be seen in director duo Amit Joshi, and Aradhana Sah’s romance drama Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead, the film will hit the silver screens on February 9. Dharmendra is also a part of director Anil Sharma’s Apne 2, the sequel to the 2007 film Apne. He will be sharing screen space with his sons Bobby and Sunny Deol in this upcoming project.
