Hema Malini, renowned as the ‘Dream Girl’ of Indian cinema, has captivated audiences with her exceptional acting and graceful dance performances. Her illustrious career began at the age of 15 with the Tamil film Idhu Sathiyam in 1963, marking the inception of a legendary journey. While she achieved fame and success, not many are aware of a tragic incident that transpired during her early years.

In 1968, Hema Malini ventured into Bollywood with Sapno Ka Saudagar. Over the years, she became an iconic figure in the industry, starring in blockbuster films such as Sholay, Baghban, and Seeta Aur Geeta. Her on-screen pairing with Dharmendra eventually blossomed into a real-life romance, culminating in their marriage in 1980.

Interestingly, Hema Malini had not initially aspired to be an actress. Her passion lay in classical dance, and she pursued this artistic journey to fulfil her mother’s dream. At the age of 13, she unexpectedly found herself cast in a Tamil movie. However, the director terminated her, citing her as too thin and predicting that she could never become an actress. Despite this setback, she defied the odds and emerged as one of the leading actresses of the 70s and 80s, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Amid her rise to stardom, an unfortunate incident occurred when a fan intruded into the premises of Hema Malini’s home where she lived with her father. The intrusion frightened her father, leading to a fatal heart attack. This incident marked a sombre chapter in the actress’s life.

Throughout her career, Hema Malini has garnered global recognition, becoming a beloved figure worldwide. Her enchanting persona and radiant smile not only endeared her to fans but also won the hearts of fellow actors like Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetendra.
