R Madhavan’s 2001 film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein turns out to be one of his most memorable film. The actor shared the screen space with Dia Mirza for the film. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about a special memory from the film’s shoot.
In an interview with Travel+Leisure India, R Madhavan was reminiscing about the movie and shared, “The fact that me and my wife got to travel first class for the very first time in our lives. We were holding each other’s hands and looking into each other’s eyes and saying, oh! We are traveling first class. This was one very unforgettable memory from the film.”
Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein featured R Madhavan, Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan. The film is a remake of the director’s own Tamil film Minnale (released in the same year), which also starred Madhavan in his reprised role. Be it with the songs, scenes or dialogues, everything struck the right chords.
In the same interview, Madhavan was also asked if his hit film 3 Idiots was to be remade today, who would he cast. To which he responded saying, “Actually nobody! There’s no replacement. Maddy, that’s it. They’ll have to find somebody.” Then he corrected himself and stated, “It’s not possible, Sorry!”. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film also starred Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Boman Irani, and Mona Singh in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, on the work front, R Madhavan is currently basking in the praise for his latest release, Shaitaan. The film’s success is credited to its engaging story, great performances, and the popularity of its lead actors, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan also features Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, and Anngad Raaj in important roles.
