Assocham has pegged losses incurred due to the Jat agitation over Rs 20,000 crore, urging the Haryana government and Centre to bring the situation in the state under control.
The industry body has said that public and private properties have been destroyed across the state and trading and industry have come to a halt due to the agitation.
Notably, auto companies like Maruti and Hero were forced to suspend operations after the protests erupted.
Haryana Additional Chief Secretary has said that 75% of the roads have been cleared and that Maruti will soon resume production.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has called an emergency meeting at 2 pm on Monday while the Narendra Modi government has announced that a committee will be established to look into the demands of the Jat community.
