The central government is reportedly planning to tighten the regulations on e-commerce companies like Flipkart and Amazon. According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the government has decided to deal with the complaints with strong policies.

We often see advertisements claiming that people can get commodities like iPhones for just Rs 11 or Rs 11 during the festival season. The companies claiming such thighs will reportedly be fined. In recent times, the government has received numerous complaints regarding such deceptive advertisements, including charging unnecessary shipping fees and delivering products that don’t match perfectly with the claims. Strict actions will be taken in such cases and the companies will be fined for misleading consumers.

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has also received multiple complaints claiming that an incorrect product was delivered to them that completely differs from the orders. The government is set to deal with these complaints strictly to reduce such issues in the country. It should be noted that the state of Uttar Pradesh, is the first state to introduce a unique way to address online fraud incidents after the Consumer Protection Act of 2019 came into force.

The Consumer Protection Act of 2019 applied to e-commerce websites as well. However, these companies continue to lure customers with attractive offers. As the upcoming festive season approaches, both the central and state governments have decided to keep a strict eye on the offers.
