Google CEO Sundar Pichai has expressed confidence in India’s capability in artificial intelligence (AI) and said the country is “well-positioned” to shape the future of this technology.

He was speaking with content creator Varun Mayya, founder of Aeos, on the transformative potential of AI in India, following Google’s annual I/O developer event.

As guidance for aspiring software engineers, Pichai stressed the need for a deep understanding over mere knowledge acquisition. For this, he also referred to the popular Bollywood movie ‘3 Idiots’ for profound comprehension of technology.

He advised aspiring software engineers to focus on understanding core principles.
