How to Lock Aadhaar Biometrics?
To lock your Aadhaar biometrics, you can use the mAadhaar app or the UIDAI website. Once your biometrics are locked, you will not be able to use them for Aadhaar authentication until you unlock them.
How To Lock Aadhaar Biometrics Online?
- Visit the UIDAI website
- Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and under the ‘Aadhaar services’, click on ‘Aadhaar lock/unlock’.
- Enter Aadhaar number or VID
- Enter Captcha and click on Send OTP
- Enter OTP received
- Click the ‘Enable’ button after entering the four-digit security code displayed on the screen.
How To Lock Aadhaar Biometrics Through Maadhaar App?
- Register Your Aadhaar Number
- Enter OTP
- Set 4 digit PIN
- Click on lock biometrics
- Enter 4-digit PIN.
How To Unlock Aadhaar Biometrics?
Once resident enables biometric Locking system their biometrics remain locked till the Aadhaar holder chooses any below the option:
- Unlock it (which is temporary )or
- Disable the locking system
The biometric unlock can be done by either by visiting the UIDAI website, enrolment centre, Aadhaar Seva Kendra(ASK), or through m-Aadhaar.
A registered mobile number is essential to avail of this service. In case your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar visit the nearest Enrolment Centre/Mobile Update End Point.
