UNI share transfer: HC orders status quo
The Delhi HC asked the chairman of the UNI to maintain status quo on the deal relating to the transfer of shares to Zee Television.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday asked the chairman of the United News of India (UNI) and the Registrar of Companies to maintain status quo till December 18 on the deal relating to the transfer of shares to Mumbai-based Mediavest India Pvt Ltd owned by Zee Television chairman Subhash Chandra.

Justice Rekha Sharma asked the respondents to file their replies before the next date of hearing.

Senior counsel A S Chandihoke appearing for the Chairman of UNI submitted that the shares were transferred to Mediavest before the writ was filed.

The court asked the Registrar of Companies to file its reply on the status of the shares by the next date of hearing.

Senior counsel Rajeev Nayar appearing for complainant Bhopal-based Sandhya Prakashan said the deal was not transparent.
