Cheteshwar Pujara continues to impress in the ongoing County Championship Division Two in the United Kingdom where he managed to strike his 65th First-Century as his side Sussex took on Middlesex at the Lords Stadium in London.
The Indian batter managed to raise his second century of the County season for Sussex which came in 256 deliveries and included 12 boundaries.
His innings came to an end thanks to Middlesex’ Nathan Fernandes who is a left-arm orthodox bowler who picked up Pujara’s wicket dismissing him after scoring 129 in 302 balls.
As of now Sussex is at the top of the table in the Division Two points table with 99 points coming in the 7 games they have played in the season. This includes three wins, two draws and one loss so far.

Along with Pujara’s century the Sussex skipper John Simpson is also unbeaten on 120 as the side are on the verge of setting up a massive first-innings total as they crossed the 400-run mark.
Despite drawing their first two games in Division Two, they managed to get back to winning ways as they beat the likes of Gloucestershire and Derbyshire to register consecutive wins.

But they went on to be beaten by Glamorgan following which Sussex got the win against Yorkshire.
Despite the fairly rocky start to the season, they remain at the top of the table and will look to capitalise on their fine start with the bat and Pujara will be as hungry as ever to score the big runs for his side.
Pujara last played an international game against Australia at the Oval as part of the final of the World Test Championship last season and has seemingly fallen out of favour with young guns like Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel all shining in the middle-order for the Indian Test team in their recent series against England.

While the future of Pujara’s international career remains uncertain, the veteran continues to impress in the domestic format where he managed to score 829 runs at an average of 69.08 in the 8 games he played in the Ranji Trophy last season for Saurashtra.
