Mayank Yadav Bowls Full Throttle In India's Practice Session As 'Pace Battery' Gears Up For Bangladesh T20Is – WATCH
22-year-old Mayank Yadav, who made headlines in IPL 2024 for his express pace, has earned his maiden India call-up for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.

After whitewashing Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, the Indian men’s cricket team will face the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side in a three-match T20I series. The series opener of the shortest format series is scheduled to take place in Gwalior on Sunday (October 6). Ahead of the first T20I at newly constructed New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Indian players took part in the first practice session on Thursday (October 3) under the watchful eyes of bowling coach Morne Morkel.

In a video uploaded by BCCI’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Indian pace trio of Arshdeep Singh, Mayank Yadav, and Harshit Rana can be seen bowling in full throttle along with ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Hardik, who has experience playing in 102 T20Is for India, is the most experienced player in the 15-member squad picked for Bangladesh T20Is.

In a clip that is now going viral on the internet, 22-year-old Mayank can be seen bowling at his full speed. The Delhi-based Lucknow Super Giants pacer has earned his maiden India call-up for the Bangladesh series after making headlines in IPL 2024. The right-arm pacer bowled in excess of 150 kmph for the KL Rahul-led side in the 2024 edition of the cash-rich league.

He, however, missed the majority of the season due to injury. But now, after recovering well, he is all set to play for India.

There are high chances that he will make his debut for India in the series opener against Bangladesh in Gwalior and lead the pace attack with Arshdeep Singh. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep will be India’s leader of pace attack in the Bangladesh series. The left-arm pacer was in red-hot form for Men in Blue in the T20 World Cup 2024, and in eight matches he accounted for the dismissal of 17 batters, which helped him finish the tournament as joint-leading wicket-taker.

India’s squad for T20I series against Bangladesh: Suryakumar Yadav (C), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (WK), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy, JItesh Sharma (WK), Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav.
