Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will be eyeing a return to the summit when they kickstart their IPL 2024 campaign. MI qualified for the playoffs last season after finishing fourth and defeated Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator but lost to Gujarat Giants in the second qualifier.
Among a host of stars making their competitive return is Ishan Kishan who has been sweating it out in MI’s pre-season camp at the Wankhede Stadium.

On Sunday, MI shared a clip of their wicketkeeper-batter delivering an important message to fellow cricketers and fans on the importance of keeping the stadiums clean.
“I would just say sub log aate hain practice karne but people should not throw water bottles everywhere. Try and keep your ground clean. Just small things and you will improve everything. These small changes are very important,” Ishan said in the video.

Ishan may not have played competitive cricket since November last year but he has continuously been in the news because of his absence from international and domestic cricket.
It was first reported that Ishan asked for a break midway through the five-match T20I series between India and Australia that was held immediately after the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Ishan did travel to South Africa for the white-ball leg of the tour but returned without playing any role. He then didn’t turn out for his domestic team Jharkhand in Ranji Trophy and then wasn’t included in BCCI’s annual contract list.
With the T20 World Cup set to get underway days after the end of IPL 2024, Ishan will be keen on having a good season to make his way back into the Indian squad for the marquee event.
MI will start their season under new captain Hardik Pandya on March 24 when they play Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
