'What? You Tell Me!': Rohit Sharma's Animated Chat With Washington Sundar Goes Viral
Sundar picked up one wicket for 46 runs in nine overs for India against Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series on Friday.

Rohit Sharma was back in action for India on Friday (August 2). The 37-year-old led India in the first ODI against Sri Lanka, which was played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, and top-scored for the visitors. But despite his fifty, India failed to chase down the target of 231 runs, and the match finished on level terms.

During the first half of the India-Sri Lanka first ODI, Rohit once again elated cricket fans with some epic stump mic banter. In one of the overs, Washington Sundar tricked Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage, sparking an appeal from the Indian players. It looked like the ball had caught the Sri Lankan’s knee pad for an LBW as he stood before the wicket. Following the appeal, Sundar looked towards Rohit about the possibility of taking a review. The India skipper then gave an epic response. “What? You tell me!” Rohit could be heard saying to the bowler.

Sony Sports Network shared the hilarious clip in a post on X. “Vintage stump mic banter from Rohit Sharma,” the post read.

Right when Rohit asked Sundar what to do, a smile broke out on the India skipper’s face. He could be further heard saying, “Why are you looking at me? Should I do everything for you?”

The hilarious segment even resulted in a burst of laughter from commentator Aakash Chopra, who said, “The stump mic is really made for him.”

The chucklesome clip has resulted in several Indian fans flocking to the comments, reacting to Rohit Sharma’s epic words. “Rohit is giving iconic one-liner dialogue,” wrote one fan.

Another tagged Rohit’s Mumbai Indians teammate Suryakumar Yadav and wrote, “There’s the one-liner.”

“Rohit Sir,” wrote one more.

One fan wasn’t too happy with the match’s result and wrote, “Ridiculous from India to tie that game.”

Sundar, who was preferred over Riyan Parag for the first ODI, picked up one wicket for 46 runs in his quota of nine overs. He was promoted to bat at No. 4 during the run chase, but he failed to make the most of the opportunity and returned back to the pavilion after making five runs from four balls.
