When Nitish Rana Made KKR Teammate Rinku Singh Propose to an Imaginary Woman

Considered to be a shy person, star batter Rinku Singh is someone who loves to stay away from the limelight. Rinku’s Kolkata Knight Riders teammates, however, are always up to pulling his leg and dragging him into hilarious pranks. KKR’s Nitish Rana once took up the responsibility of teaching Rinku the basics of proposing to a woman. Rana recalled the incident when the two KKR players were travelling for an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. At that moment, Rinku was seated next to Rana on a flight. When they were at the team hotel, Rana asked Rinku to imagine him as a lady and approach him with a proposal.

“I told him let’s shoot a video. I’m a girl and you come and propose to me. I want to see what will be your style,” Nitish Rana was heard saying in a video going viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Rinku might have accepted the challenge but improvised the scene a bit to make it more hilarious.

Nitish Rana was able to capture the moment on his phone. He brought out the recording where Rinku Singh could be spotted holding a flower pot. He then went down on his knees and proposed to the imaginary woman. “Hi baby, I propose you,” Rinku was heard saying in the video. After Rana revealed the footage, Rinku was evidently embarrassed. He immediately hid his face before jumping into a burst of laughter.

After the video surfaced on X, a few fans claimed that the banter between Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh was recorded two years ago. Despite being an old clip, it still managed to garner many reactions from social media users, who flooded the comments section with numerous laughing emojis.

As far as KKR’s form in the ongoing IPL is concerned, the two-time champions have already earned their berth in the playoffs. This is the first time since 2021 that KKR have been able to secure a top-four finish. They still have one more league game to play against Rajasthan Royals scheduled to take place on May 19. Having played 13 matches so far in the IPL 2024, the Shreyas Iyer-led side has collected 19 points.
