Delay in CUET UG Results 2024 Likely to Push DU Admissions to August 16: VC Yogesh Singh
The first semester classes at Delhi University were originally scheduled to begin on August 1 but now it may be pushed to August 16, Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh said

With NTA yet to declare CUET UG 2024 results, first-year undergraduate admissions at Delhi University have seen a delay. The results of the Common University Entrance Test were initially scheduled to be released on June 30 but were delayed following the NEET UG 2024 paper leak issue. The first semester classes at Delhi University were originally scheduled to begin on August 1 but now it may be pushed to August 16, Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh told ANI.

The delay in the publication of CUET UG results 2024 has disrupted the academic calendar, Singh said adding that classes for other semesters will begin as per schedule on August 1. “The result has not been announced, but it will impact the academic calendar for the students for the first semester in courses where admission is through CUET-UG. The semester will likely start on August 16. For other semesters, we will start the semester on August 1,” the VC told the news agency.

Meanwhile, while releasing the provisional answer key, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had said that it would “redo” the exam “if any grievances are found to be genuine”. The agency, which is currently embroiled in controversy for irregularities in NEET-UG, specified that if any grievances raised by the candidates on the conduct of the exam are found to be correct, it will re-take the exam between July 15-19 for such candidates under the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, the agency added.

“The NTA is addressing the grievances received regarding the exam conducted for CUET-UG 2024 and received up to June 30. If the grievance is genuine, the NTA is committed to redoing the exam for these candidates at selected centres any day between July 15-19, 2024. The admit card will be issued to the candidates. All such candidates will take the exam in CBT mode only,” the notification read. The results are expected to be released anytime soon.
