If you’re from Samastipur, Bihar and preparing for competitive exams, you no longer need to worry about buying expensive books. Many students struggle to afford these books, but there’s good news. The Samastipur District Planning Office launched the Study Kit Yojana Programme, which initially benefited students with at least one year of registration. However, the programme has now been updated to include students with just six months of registration.
Previously, only a limited number of students received books, and many couldn’t get their preferred ones. With the new update, this issue has been addressed. Regardless of whether the books cost Rs 2,000 or Rs 4,000, students won’t have to pay anything. They simply need to contact the District Planning Office in Samastipur. There, they will fill out a form either offline or online.
After the application is reviewed by a ten-member team, the books will be provided to them. Samastipur District Planning Officer Sumit Kumar Singh shared with Local18 that a significant number of students in the area have aspirations of securing prestigious positions like IPS, IAS, Bihar Daroga, Bihar Police, and roles in the Railways. However, the cost of acquiring necessary study materials can be a major barrier for many. Recognising this challenge, the Samastipur District Planning Office introduced a study kit scheme designed to alleviate the financial burden on these students.
The scheme aims to provide essential books and study materials without any charge, ensuring that financially disadvantaged students can still access the resources they need to prepare for competitive exams. It is particularly beneficial for those who might otherwise struggle to afford the high costs associated with purchasing books and other study aids. This initiative reflects a commitment to supporting students in their educational and career pursuits, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their aspirations.
