Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited has released recruitment for 8th, 10th and ITI pass students. Candidates will have to appear for a written examination to get selected. As per the official notification, the examination is to be conducted on August 10. Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) is a Mini Ratna Company under the Ministry of Defence. The Company has invited applications for 518 apprenticeship posts. The last date for taking applications is July 2. According to the notification, there are 218 open vacancies for Group A (10th), 240 open positions for Group B (ITI) and Group C has 60 open vacancies. Education Qualification:
Group A – Candidates belonging to the General Category must have passed 10th-grade examinations in Mathematics and Science with an aggregate of a minimum of 50 per cent. While students belonging to the Schedules Caste/ Scheduled Tribes must just pass with passing marks.
Group B – For apprenticeship in Group A, candidates belonging to the General Category must have passed the ITI in relevant trade with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent marks. While students belonging to the Schedules Caste/ Scheduled Tribes must just pass with passing marks.
Group C – Candidates belonging to the General Category must have passed 8th-grade examinations with an aggregate of a minimum of 50 per cent. There is no minimum aggregate requirement for students belonging to the Schedules Caste/Scheduled Tribes.
How much will you be paid?
The stipend you will be receiving as an apprentice is explained by category Group A, B and C
Group A (10th Pass) – Rs 3,000 monthly for the first three months then Rs 6,000 monthly for nine months and Rs 6,000 monthly in the second year
Group B (ITI Pass) – This apprenticeship will be for a year. For this, a stipend of Rs 8,050 will be paid monthly. The stipend for pipe fitter, welder, COPA and carpenter will be just Rs 7,700 monthly.
Group C (8th Pass) – Rs 2,500 will be paid as a stipend for the first three months and then Rs 5,000 per month for the remaining nine months. For the second year, the stipend will be Rs 5,500 per month.
