Counselling for NEET UG 2024 is slated to commence from July 6. This process aims to facilitate admissions into various undergraduate courses such as MBBS and BDS in medical colleges across the country. According to the National Medical Commission (NMC), there are a total of 1,06,333 MBBS seats available in 386 government and 320 private colleges nationwide. This year, over 23 lakh students registered for the NEET UG exam. The cutoff marks for NEET this year are notably high, with a significant number of candidates scoring above 700 marks. As per rank predictors, candidates scoring above 600 marks are expected to have ranks ranging from 19,000 to 23,000. The competition is intense this year, making it challenging even for top NEET UG scorers to secure admission in institutions like AIIMS.

Private colleges of the country charge fees of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore for the five and a half year MBBS course. In some other countries, it is cheaper to do your medicals. Kyrgyzstan: The MBBS course duration is five years. Applicants need to pass the NEET UG exam along with completing their 12th grade. The cost is Rs 5-10 lakh.
China: MBBS in China spans six years, including five years of study and one year of residency. Students must have a minimum of 70 percent in their 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. NEET UG qualification is mandatory, with admission criteria typically requiring a score ranging from 70 to 80 percent, varying by university (for instance, China Medical University requires 80%, while Jilin, Dalian, and Anhui Medical Universities require 70 percent). This will cost you Rs 5-12 lakh .
Sweden: MBBS in Sweden also spans six years, comprising a five-year course and a one-year internship. Alongside NEET UG, applicants must pass one language proficiency test from SweSAT, IELTS, or TOEFL. It will cost you Rs 6-18 lakh.
Russia: Similar to China, MBBS in Russia consists of a five-year course followed by a one-year internship. Admission to Russian universities requires qualifying the NEET UG exam.You need to need out Rs 15-30 lakh.
