One Madhya Pradesh woman is now an inspiration to many civil service aspirants. The woman named Ritika Patidar’s remarkable success story is worth noting. The 32-year-old was selected for the post of Deputy Collector in the state. She is the first woman in her family to achieve this milestone of securing the 9th rank in the Madhya Pradesh State Service examination 2019. Ritika Patidar hails from a middle-class farmer family of Kavadiya village, Maheshwar district in Khargone. Born to Parmanand Patidar, Ritika is the youngest of her three sisters and one brother. She received her primary education from the government school of the village and completed her high school at Karhi government school. She went on to pursue an engineering degree from Borawan Engineering College. Ritika is married to a government employee and the couple is currently enjoying parenthood; they are blessed with a son.

Notably, Ritika cracked MPPSC twice. In an interview with the media, she informed that earlier, she had appeared for the MPPSC exam for the first time in the year 2015. The results for the same were announced in the year 2017. Ritika says that she cracked the exam on the first attempt and was offered the post of Second Division Officer. Since she aimed to become a Deputy Collector, she gave up the opportunity and decided to appear for the exam again in 2019. Even in 2017, Ritika’s name was on the waiting list for the post of Deputy Collector, she achieved what she aimed at in the year 2019.

Speaking about the obstacles that she faced throughout her journey, Ritika said that she was also working while fulfilling her responsibility as a mother and wife. She used to get free from her work and household chores at night and it was the only time she could prepare for what she wanted. She revealed that she went to a coaching institute in Indore for preparation but for the second attempt, she prepared on her own. Ahead of the MPPSC 2019 pre-exam, she delivered her son through caesarean, which took a toll on her health. Despite this, she continued preparing for the exam and the efforts came to fruition.
