After the smashing box office success of Pathaan, all eyes are set for Siddharth Anand’s upcoming action entertainer, Fighter. While it’s not a part of YRF’s spy universe, it will see Siddharth reuniting with Deepika Padukone, who once again will be seen donning the hat of an action star and engaging in some high-octane stunts in it. The film also stars Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. Expectations from the actioner are pretty high as it marks the third collaboration between Siddharth and Hrithik, who have earlier delivered blockbusters like Bang Bang (2014) and War (2019).
With a little over two months away from its theatrical release, fans are awaiting the trailer of Fighter with bated breath. And now News18 Showsha has an exclusive update on the date of the launch of its teaser. While there’s still some time before the audience gets a glimpse of the trailer, we have learnt from an insider that the teaser of Fighter will be dropped in December and it will give us a sneak peek into its slick and stylised world, a template that Siddharth has become synonymous with over the years.
The insider tells us, “A little bit of the post-production work is still pending. But the audience will get to watch the teaser of the film on December 1. It promises to be one of the most stylised films of our times and the teaser will truly be worth the wait. However, there’s isn’t much clarity on when they plan on releasing the trailer of the film.”
The source further adds that Siddharth has taken the scale and magnitude of action a notch higher with Fighter and that it will make for a true blue big screen spectacle. “The cast went through intense training to slip under the skin of their characters and imbibe the mannerisms of a pilot. Be assured that the action sequences you will see in the film will be the first of its kind. The first glimpse of Fighter had a version of Vande Mataram playing in the backdrop and it’s given that the film will ride high on the theme of patriotism,” says the source.
Fighter is touted to be Bollywood’s first aerial action franchise. Earlier this year, the first looks of the pivotal characters were unveiled, which received a lot of appreciation and grabbed attention from netizens. Hrithik, Deepika and Anil will be playing fighter pilots in the film. Fighter was earlier scheduled for a release in September 2022 but its pre-production got delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will now release on the eve of India’s 75th Republic Day on January 25. It’s produced under the banner of Siddharth and Mamta Anand’s production house Marflix Pictures dedicated to action filmmaking in India and Viacom18 Studios.
