Churchill Brothers strengthened their squad further by adding a Japanese.

New Delhi: Under the '3+1' rule introduced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) which was welcomed by all Asian communities, Churchill Brothers have signed Ito for a year in order to reinforce their midfield which saw Chitra Singh leaving for Salgaocar SC in the summer.

The Japanese midfielder has played in nine countries across Asia Pacific including Australia and Singapore. Interestingly, Ito played alongside Mohun Bagan's Jose Barreto at Penang FC of Malaysia.

Ito was the runner-up to the New Player of the Japanese Second Division in 1998. Churchill Brothers are to play in the prestigious AFC Cup where the experience and skill of Ito shall come to help.

"He is a very skilful player, who can deliver accurate passes. He has a good vision and is an intelligent footballer,” informed Ito's agent Mirko to Goal.com.

The transfer was officially completed on Friday morning between the club and Ito's agents, Rahul Fernandes and Mirko.
