A Vincent Kompany own goal in the 13th minute earned Finland win.
Turku, Finland: A Vincent Kompany own goal earned Finland a 1-0 victory over Belgium in an international friendly on Wednesday.
The only goal of the game came in the 13th minute, when Mikael Forssell passed to Roni Porokara, whose shot deflected off Kompany, wrongfooting Belgium goalkeeper Logan Bailly.
Neither team were able to add to the score in the second half, with both making a number of substitutions.
Ahead of the English Premier League's opening weekend, Kompany of Manchester City and Arsenal's Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen both completed a full 90 minutes.
Belgium begins its European Championship 2012 qualifying campaign at home to Germany on Sept. 3., while Finland travel to Moldova.
