Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has praised the talented Alejandro Garnacho for his performance for the club.
“He gets you off your seat. He’s giving you 10 times more than the other guy that cost so much money,” Giggs said.
While Giggs didn’t name the ‘other guy’, he was reportedly criticising Manchester United’s new signings.

Among the new recruits since Erik ten Hag took over as Manchester United manager, Antony has come under intense scrutiny for his lack of impact despite his astronomical price.
In the same interview, Giggs also called out how United conducted business in the transfer market saying, “We’ve just recruited terribly for years and years.”
Giggs then talked about the current state of affairs at Manchester United following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment in the club.
“It’s frustrating and has been for the last six or seven years,” he said.
Giggs feels that the team has to start building from scratch to find success.
He said, “You have to start again. It starts from the top. We’re just so inconsistent and you just never know what you get.”
The legendary midfielder feels that United require a cultural change. “That is the No1 thing we have to change. The culture of the club. To get players who want to play for United and will do anything to win a game for United”, Giggs concluded.
Antony arrived at Old Trafford in the summer transfer window of 2022 for a staggering fee of £85 million. Since then he has played a total of 66 games for United while scoring on just eight occasions and providing for his teammates three times. The Brazilian is yet to open his scoring account in the ongoing season despite having made 22 appearances across all competitions.
On the other side, Garnacho has established himself as a crucial player at United under Ten Hag’s management. The 19-year-old talent has already netted five times for the club including a stunning finish against Everton. He was signed by the Red Devils in 2020 from La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
He signed a new contract with the club last year that would see him at Old Trafford until 2028.
Garnacho has made a total of 64 appearances for United while scoring 10 times and providing seven assists.
Manchester United are next set to face Newport County in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. The match will take place on January 28 at the Rodney Parade Stadium.
