Bologna: European champion Inter Milan opened its pursuit of a record sixth consecutive Serie A title with a 0-0 draw at Bologna on Monday.
The closest Inter came to scoring was when Samuel Eto'o hit the crossbar midway through the second half. Wesley Sneijder also created some second-half chances, while Diego Milito again appeared off form.
"I was happy about the reaction the squad showed in the second half," said new Inter coach Rafa Benitez. "We're just lacking a bit of physical freshness."
Inter also failed to score in its last outing, when they were beaten 2-0 by Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup on Friday.
The poor results could prompt club president Massimo Moratti to make some moves Tuesday before the current transfer window closes.
"There's not much time but we hope we can do something," Benitez said.
