Rome: AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that Manchester City has rejected its proposal to sign Carlos Tevez on loan.

The striker, who had already agreed on personal terms with the Rossoneri this week, but its plan to take him on loan for a non-binding 23-million Euros and an option to buy at the end of the season did not go down well with the English club, Xinhua reported.

"We received an answer. You all know the situation," Galliani was quoted as saying by football-italia.net.

"Manchester City want to sell the player outright, while we want him on loan with the right to buy. We are a big club and if players do well then we take up their options.

"It's true that Paris Saint-Germain are looking at the Argentine now as well, so I think it will be a bit of a long negotiation process."

Tevez recieved a lot of flak for his denial to take the field in a Champions League match against Bayern Munich and has not played for City since.

"In any case, I don't want to make any predictions on the outcome of the negotiations, as there were many clubs on Tevez, including some Italians, an English side and PSG.

"We have already received City's response to our offer and they are asking for the player to be signed outright, so I hope to convince them to accept our proposal," he said.
