Napoli Announce Victor Osimhen's Contract Extension Till 2026

Defending Serie A champions announced the contract extension of their star striker, Victor Osimhen till 2026. The Nigerian striker has been a pivotal part for the side in their championship run last season and his contract renewal will put the fans at ease with various rumours regarding the departure of the striker.

The club announced their decision to extend the contract on their official handles on social media.

Currently, the striker has racked up eight goals and three assists in all competitions in the current season. Of these seven of the goals came in the Serie A.

The striker however managed to raise his game up in the previous season where he managed to finish with 31 goals and five assists in 39 games his side went on to win the Serie A title marking 43 years since they last managed to get their hands on the title.

Osimhen also has formed a killer partnership with his fellow attacker the Georgian, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia which dazzled the crowd with their link-up plays in the Italian league.

Napoli however have taken a hit in comparison to their previous season’s form where the champions now sit at sixth spot in the league with a game in hand at 27 points.

The Nigerian striker also has not been able to replicate his form from the previous season as well which could be a reason for Napoli’s dip in form.

However, the side has made strides in the Champions League and will face off against FC Barcelona in the Round of 16 with Napoli playing at home for the first leg.

The side managed to finish second in their group with 10 points while Real Madrid took the top spot as the side remained undefeated in the group stages.

The announcement of the extension was made ahead of Napoli’s big fixture in the Serie A as the champions take on Roma at home.
