Mumbai: One person was killed and another injured when the motorcycle on which they were travelling rammed into a road divider while allegedly trying to evade traffic police.
The accident occured at 2300 hrs (IST) while the duo reportedly raced across a popular "drag-racing" spot in Western Mumbai, police said.
A police party tried to catch the duo who rammed into a road divider as they allegedly attempted to flee causing injuries to both the riders, police said.
Both of them were rushed to the nearby V N Desai Hospital where one succumbed to his injuries and the other is reportedly serious injured, they said.
The wide roads and thinner stream of traffic attract a lot of youngsters to this area where they indulge in racing, police added.
