Ahmedabad: Security agencies have been put on high alert as 10 Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists are suspected to have entered Gujarat, said sources on Sunday. The information was given by Pakistan NSA Nasir Khan Janjua to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

National Security Guard teams have been sent to Gujarat to avoid any untoward incidents. So far, there has been no information on the whereabouts of the LeT operatives.

Gujarata DGP PC Thakur held a meeting of top officials and also cancelled leave of all police officers. "We are on high alert and prepared to deal any situation. We have issued high alert. We have started combing operations across various locations. We have also sensitised places that see high rate of footfall," said Thakur.

A Pakistani fishing boat was seized by a BSF patrol party on Friday after its occupants fled upon seeing the security personnel in the Koteshwar creek area off the Kutch coast along the Indo-Pakistan border, heightening the security concerns.

Gujarat Home Minister Rajni Patel said, "We has received inputs from Centre yesterday about terror suspects have entered the state. We have issued an high alert."

High level meetings, headed by Home Secretary P K Taneja, were held in Gandhinagar early in the morning and late Saturday night.

There is tight security at all vital installations across the state like railway stations, airport.
