Lucknow: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Lucknow’s Sarojini Nagar on Saturday night by two youths, one of whom was known to her. She was raped again by a passerby, whose help she had sought to reach home.
The girl, a cancer survivor, told the police that she had gone out to buy some groceries around 8.30 pm on Saturday when an acquaintance, Shubham, convinced her that he would drop her home.
However, he took her to a secluded place and, along with his friend, allegedly raped her. The two then dumped her on the roadside and fled.
The girl was lying on the roadside when a passerby noticed her and stopped to offer help. The girl narrated what had happened, but instead of helping her, he too forced himself upon her and then left her lying there.
Some local residents found her there late at night and informed the police. After reaching home, she narrated the ordeal to her parents. On the complaint of the girl's father, an FIR has been lodged.
While the passerby, Virendra Yadav, has been arrested, the search is on to nab the other two accused, circle officer of Sarojini Nagar, Lalta Prasad Singh, said.
