HYDERABAD: Task Force sleuths arrested two persons of an interstate gang who were cheating gullible persons on the pretext of antique and magical articles, precious stones, rice pulling items (iridium) and peculiar creatures. Police recovered a doubleheaded snake, passport, fake ID, PAN card, two cell phones and other incriminating material.
The accused are Ramdas Sivan alias Sivan Nair, native of 15 G K Square, Puruchi, Sundarapuram, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu and Kulapurathu Ramesh Kumar, native of Kulapurathu House, Melur Post, Quilandi, Calicut in Kerala. Ch Ramchander, deputy commissioner of police (Task Force) said Ramdas Sivan was in construction businessman in Coimbatore. On instigation of his friend Kanda Swamy, he was cheated out of nearly `25 lakh in pursuit of Nagamani and ricepulling items, which actually do not exist. He had decided to regain his money in the same way by cheating others. Another accused Ramesh Kumar completed his BCom. Later, he learnt testing of gems and diamonds and is a freelance gemologist. He came in contact with many persons and Sivan is one among them.
