KOLLAM: Twentytwo passengers were injured when a KSRTC Super Fast bus bound for Thiruvananthapuram from Munnar lost control and overturned at Sadanandapuram, near Kottarakkara, on Tuesday morning.The accident occurred at 3.30 a.m. at a turn near Sadanandapuram School Junction. The bus, which lost control, ran over the divider and turned turtle.Sandra, 34, a tourist from France, Prasanth, 24, Sudha, 35, Jameela, 33, Mariakutty, 65, Easwaran, 40, Ashokan, 30, Raju, 41 and Saraswathi, 64, all hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, were seriously injured and admitted to the Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. Other passengers who sustained minor injuries were taken to the Taluk Hospital, Kottarakkara, and discharged after giving firstaid.The local people who arrived on the spot hearing the loud noise started the rescue operations and alerted the police. Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Kottarakkara and the Kottarakkara Police led the rescue opertions.
