3 from Bangalore drown in Karwar

KARWAR: Three persons from Bangalore drowned in the sea at Honey beach near Ankola on Friday. They have been identified as Amit Vishnukumar Murarkar (35), a resident of Tippasandra, Praveen Namita (35), a Whitefield resident, and Praven’s wife Sanjali( 30).Praveen’s two-year -old daughter Anushka and Amit’s wife Divya have survived in the incident.The two families had gone to Honey beach around 7 am. Three members of these families were swept away by tidal waves in the sea, the police sources said.Heavy rains have been lashing the coast of the district for the past four days. The teams of fire brigade, the coast guard and the coastal police are searching for the bodies.
