35 fishermen repatriated

RAMANATHAPURAM: Thirty five TN fishermen, who took shelter in Nedunthivu after their boats were damaged mid-sea last month, were repatriated from Sri Lanka and handed over to ICG personnel on Tuesday. According to sources, the 35 fishermen from Pudukottai, Thanjavur and Nagapattinam, were offered food and shelter by the Lankan Navy. Four MissingFour fishermen were reported missing mid-sea in Rameswaram on Tuesday. Sources said that fishermen in around 600 mechanised boats had ventured out into the sea for fishing on Monday after a week’s break. Meanwhile, four fishermen -  Govindaraj, Nathan, Kumar and Arumugam - did not return.
