BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa Government has designated 382 public health institutions which will provide free services as per the mandate of the Janani Sishu Surakhya Karyakram (JSSK). The Scheme, which was launched by the Centre in June, will come into effect from November 1 in the State. Under JSSK, completely free and cashless services will be provided to pregnant women including normal deliveries and Caesarean operations in Government health institutions in both rural and urban areas. Similarly, sick newborns (up to 30 days after birth) will get an identical service under the scheme. The scheme is estimated to benefit more than a crore pregnant women and newborns across the country.
