A woman guard at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has accused the hospital’s chief security officer of sexual harassment. In response, AIIMS management has established a committee to investigate the allegations and has mandated that a report be submitted within seven days.
The guard claims that during a visit to discuss her duty roster, the chief security officer made inappropriate advances and made casteist remarks at her. Following the incident, she lodged a formal complaint with hospital management, seeking action against the accused.
On October 15, AIIMS issued a memorandum directing Dr KK Verma, head of the SC, ST, OBC complaint committee, and Dr Puneet Kaur, head of the internal complaint committee and HOD of the Biophysics department, to conduct the inquiry. Both committees are tasked with providing their findings within a week.
