Allowance for Ideal Jawa Staff

BANGALORE: The High Court on Wednesday set aside a single judge order which denied variable dearness allowance (VDA) to over a thousand employees of Ideal Jawa — an automobile company in Mysore — while winding up.Hearing an appeal filed by company employees, a bench comprising Justice V G Sabhahit and Justice S N Satyanarayana set aside the earlier order. The bench observed that the single judge was not justified in dismissing the petition. The official liquidator has been directed to recalculate the allowance taking VDA into consideration.
