Alvida Husain saheb!

Maqbool Fida Husain, popularly known as M F Husain, passed away on June 9. Hussain, who loved Irani chai, used to pay regular visits to hotel Banjara Darbar. He not only used to spend a lot of his time at the cafe drinking tea and contemplating, but he also loved to bite into juicy meetha pan, which was his other favourite.“I knew him personally. He would spend a lot of his time in the cafe and talk to people over a cup of tea. He was a great person. India will never get such an artist again,” reveals Abdul Aziz Usmani, owner of a stationery shop and a friend too. To which Mohd Saleem, the owner of this cafe adds, “Whenever he was on his way from the old airport, he would make a stop for some tea and meetha pan.”
