AP: Cabinet reshuffle likely next month?

HYDERABAD: The long pending cabinet reshuffle by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is likely to take place shortly probably next month.APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, who also holds the transport portfolio in the Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet, said the chief minister would shortly take a decision to make necessary changes in the state cabinet.“You know the developments and problems being faced by the state in the recent times.Shortly, the chief minister will take a decision to make necessary changes in the cabinet,’’ he told newsmen here on Saturday Kiran Kumar Reddy who took over as the chief minister on November 25, 2010, expanded his cabinet consisting of 38 members on December 1, 2010.However, trouble broke out on the same day when some of the cabinet ministers had expressed dissatisfaction over their portfolios.The crisis was averted following an assurance by the chief minister that he would redress their grievances over regional and caste imbalances in distribution of key portfolios.Vatti Vasanth Kumar, who earlier handled rural development was given tourism and youth services portfolio and he submitted his resignation to the chief minister expressing dissatisfaction over the portfolio offered to him.Botcha Satyanarayana (transport), Dharmana Prasada Rao (roads and buildings), Ponnala Lakshmaiah (IT), Kanna Laxminarayana (housing), P Shankar Rao (textiles), Komatireddy Venkat Reddy (infrastructure and investments) and Danam Nagender (labour) were among those who were also not satisfied with their portfolios.As for some Telangana ministers, who were not attending duties at the Secretariat, the APCC chief said talks were going on with them to resume their duties.In fact, the Congress party wants an early and a permanent solution to Telangana.
