Itanagar: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has allegedly spotted the wreckage of a Pawan Hans helicopter which went missing in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on August 4.
The IAF has reportedly found metal objects, but it is yet to be verified if they belong to the helicopter, sources in the Arunachal Pradesh Police said.
Earlier, some debris were spotted at a remote forested area near Khonsa, however, the police could not confirm if they belonged to the helicopter.
The Pawan Hans chopper carrying Tirap district Deputy Commissioner Kamlesh Joshi, a pilot and a crew member went missing when it was flying from Khonsa to Longding in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Air Traffic Control at Assam's Dibrugarh received the last signal from the chopper from Deomali area on Tuesday before it went missing.
IAF helicopters and ground search teams including army, Assam Rifles, Arunachal Pradesh Police and villagers have been braving inclement weather to look for the the missing chopper.
