A day after three-year-old Gurshan Singh Channa was found murdered in Melbourne, the Australian police plan to conduct toxicology tests on the body of the Indian toddler. So far, the police have failed to get clear leads on the reason for death.
It is not clear whether the toddler who went missing from his home on Thursday and was later found dead was poisoned or suffocated.
The toxicology is a long process and could take days before it is able to provide the police with some significant leads.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating the possibility of the kid having died of asphyxiation. Gurshan Singh's parents have told police that their son was healthy, energetic boy.
Police have appealed people to come forward as witnesses. They believe that if the child wandered on to the street he would have been noticed. The child molestation angle is also being looked into even though the investigators feel that the possibility of an opportunistic child molester grabbing a wandering child in front of dozens of potential witnesses was small.
