New Delhi: Four days after undergoing a surgery for spinal injuries, 51-year-old Raj Bala, the woman grievously injured in the police crackdown at Baba Ramdev's hunger strike venue at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, remained critical, doctors said.

Doctors attending on her at the ICU of the neurosurgery department of G B Pant Hospital said her condition continues to be critical and her neurological status

remains unchanged.

However, they maintained that she is "conscious, quadriplegic and obeying simple verbal commands".

"She is stable and on ventilator and her vital parameters are stable on medication," a doctor attending to Bala said.

Raj Bala had undergone a surgery on June 5 for cervical spinal injuries. Doctors have done a decompression and fixation using plate, screw and cage.

Another victim admitted with head injuries is now undergoing treatment at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital.

"Only one patient is admitted with us and the rest have been discharged. He will be discharged as soon as he recovers," Dr Richa Diwan, Medical Superintendent of LNJP Hospital, said.
