Novelist Kola Boof claims she was held prisoner and forced to have sex with Osama bin Laden in 1996.

New York: Sudanese novelist Kola Boof, who was forced by al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden to live with him as his mistress, is reportedly writing for NBC's soap opera Days of Our Lives.

"Yes, Kola Boof has had writing assignments from Days since May. However, she does not hold a staff position with our writing team," the New York Post quoted Stephen Wyman, the show's co-executive producer, as telling tvguide.com.

Earlier in 2003, Boof revealed to Page Six that she had to take her five-year-old son out of a Los Angeles elementary school after rumours swirled that bin Laden was his father.

Boof also claimed that she was held prisoner and forced to have sex with bin Laden in 1996, when she was pursuing an acting career in North Africa. She accused the al-Qaeda leader of raping her, then forcing her to live with him for four months at a hotel in Morocco.

In 1998, after Boof escaped to Spain, bin Laden threatened to kill her after reading her book of poetry, which was critical of Islam.

Boof has also been marked for death by the Sudanese-based National Islamic Front in response to her writings condemning slavery in the Sudan and barbarism against African women.
