BJP not ready to accept Pak's admittance of 26/11 yet
The BJP says if Pakistan is truthful, they should hand over the terrorists to India.

Pakistan has virtually admitted that 26/11 Mumbai terror conspiracy was plotted on its own territory.

Would the BJP like to believe that the kind of pressure that the party has applied on the Congress party, by and large trying to put the UPA government in a corner trying to suggest that the UPA wasn't exerting enough diplomatic pressure, as a triumph for itself or not?

CNN-IBN’s Bhupendra Choubey spoke to BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar

CNN-IBN: Do you think there is some merit in what the BJP had been saying all along that the Indian government needs to be more stronger in its support?

Prakash Javadekar: BJP always demands that government has to be stronger. This is not an occasion of celebration. Let us wait for two more days because what Pakistan has done by accepting the nationality of Kasab and you know, Durrani had to go. I don't know who is going in this episode. But if they are really sincere and if they are really accepting for whatever reasons that the conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan, by Pakistani elements, then they must hand over those terrorists to India

CNN-IBN:At least at this moment, would you say it is a victory for the UPA government with their coercive diplomatic pressure? Would you complement the UPA government on that?

Prakash Javadekar: I would like to wait for at least 48 hours because the way Pakistani is handling the case, the questions they have raised, and the whole thing is not clear. Virtual admission is not real admission. They will have to hand over the culprits to India. If they do that then we can say that we have succeeded. Otherwise, as a nation we are fighting for the last 75 days without any tangible results.

CNN-IBN: How do you foresee the kinds of steps taken by Pakistan, legal provisions are being applied against the culprits, are you not satisfied with all that?

Prakash Javadekar: Indian Prime Minister is on record saying that our dossiers’ evidences proves that it is the ISI, the official agencies that were involved. Now, he cannot go back, so whether Pakistan has accepted that or whether they are putting some different people, whether they are the real culprits, al Qaeda, Taliban and the ISI sponsored terror attack, if Pakistan accepts what our prime minister is saying, we cannot forget what our prime minister has said.

CNN-IBN: Pakistan is echoing the demand of BJP leader Narendra Modi saying that the locals links to the Mumbai attacks must be investigated and now we see the demand coming from the Pakistani Interior minister himself?

Prakash Javadekar: Pakistan is not echoing the same thing. When Antulay raised suspicion about the incident that was a weapon in the hands of Pakistan and it used it. What Modi said is the feeling and the concern of the people. Nobody believes and should believe that such type of attack cannot happen without any local help.

CNN-IBN: What was the need for Modi to announce a separate statement that it was just a rece that was being done?

Prakash Javadekar: He was just saying what many even senior police officers believe that this would not happen without local help.

What's your reaction?
