Mumbai: The man who discovered an alleged attempt to sabotage industrialist Anil Ambani's helicopter last week has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in Mumbai. Police discovered Borge's body between Vile Parle and Andheri railway tracks on Wednesday morning.
Borge, a technician with Airworks India Engineering Pvt Ltd, had found pebbles and mud in the gear box of Ambani's helicopter, hours before the industrialist was to take off.
Now a letter believed to be written by Borge has surfaced. The undated letter, written in Marathi, was addressed to one Bhobade, an investigating officer of the crime branch. “That day after you (Bhobade) left, some Reliance people came and spoke to me and did'nt tell them anything. One of them took my number and said we will sit and talk tomorrow. I felt they were using me. I was going to tell you (Bhobade) in the night but when I came there they (police) were interrogating one accused and seeing that I could not speak. After thinking all night, I wrote this letter since it looks like the blame will be on me. The investigation should go in the right direction for the truth to emerge.
Borge's letter also said he had done nothing wrong and that the investigation into the alleged sabotage was on the right track.
If it turns out to be authentic, it can be used by the police to prove this was not a case of suicide
There were no comments from the Anil Ambani Group which had alleged that business rivals may be behind an "attempt to murder" the industrialist by trying to sabotage his helicopter.
