HYDERABAD: Most of the candidates appearing for the GroupI examination at Warangal and Hyderabad on Sunday reached the respective places a week ago due to the uncertainty of transport services on account of Sakala Janula Samme in Telangana.
Public road transport service has remained paralysed in the region since September 19 on account of the strike by RTC employees. Making things worse, the rail roko began on Saturday, immobilising trains.The AP Public Service Commission is holding the examination in five cities- Hyderabad, Warangal, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati- covering all the three regions.

Suresh, a candidate from Vijayawada, attended classes at the RC Reddy Coaching Centre at Ashok Nagar here but chose Vijayawada as his examination centre. He had taken a train a week ago to reach his home to avoid any lastminute inconvenience.

Praveen Kumar, a candidate, said that he asked a friend of his to drop him off at the examination centre located at Kukatpally all six days from Sunday.

Gangaiah from Siricilla in Karimnagar district had arrived in the city 15 days ago in view of the strike and has been staying with his friends while Satish from Korutla arrived here a week ago and has been staying at a relative's house.

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was firm on conducting the examination as per the schedule.
