BANGALORE: Sing for a cause was the theme of the evening as Genesis Foundation played host to India’s top corporate honchos for its fund-raiser event — ‘CEOs Sing for their Supper’. The event was held in association with Grey Goose at ITC Gardenia and saw nine CEOs investing their time to enthrall the audience by singing. Prema Sagar, Founder Trustee, said, “Genesis Foundation’s fund-raising efforts are undertaken to help raise money for our cause and help ‘Give Life a Chance’. Both, the ‘CEOs Share-a-Smile Lunch’ and the ‘CEOs Sing for their Supper’ were well received.” This is the third CEOs Sing for their Supper event, the earlier two were held in Gurgaon and Mumbai where they raised `15 and `9.50 lakhs respectively. The proceeds go towards saving the lives of critically ill orphans and under-privileged children who have cancer, require heart surgeries, bone marrow transplants for thalassemia and complex surgeries to help them see a better tomorrow. “We have till June 2011 successfully saved the lives of 183 children,” said Sagar. The proceeds from this event will be utilised to save the lives of 7 children in need of surgery for cardiac disorders, treatment for cancer and thalassemia. According to Sunder Ashok Genomal, MD, Jockey India, “It is certainly a richer and more rewarding experience when you know you are supporting a fund raising event while having fun!” The entertaining evening saw guests in full attendance as 9 CEO’s - Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairman & Managing Director, Biocon - Shireesh Joshi, Director Strategic Projects, Airtel Bharti, Sanjay Purohit, Managing Director, Levis India, Geetu Verma, Vice President Innovation, PepsiCo, Chandran Sankaran, Founder & CEO, Zyme Solutions.
