BHUBANESWAR: Police on Saturday nabbed a gang of three robbers who had gone on a snatching spree in the city over the last couple of months. As many as 10 necklaces were recovered from their possession by Nayapalli police. The three have been identified as Kalindi Rath, Sarat Pradhan and Jagannath Nayak, all in their 20s. Snatching was a easy source of “earning” for them. Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjit Singh said the three were involved in at least 11 cases of chain-snatching in the city. On December 6, the trio had robbed three persons in Nayapalli police limits area and another two in Kharavela Nagar. Two days later, they again snatched gold necklaces from under Sahid Nagar police limits. They had also carried out similar robbery in Chandrasekharpur and Kharavela Nagar in November. Police said Kalindi is a native of Begunia, while Sarat and Jagannath belong to Phulbani and Cuttack respectively. They were produced before a local court later in the day.
