BHUBANESWAR: Odisha students continued their good run at the national level with Anshuman Mohapatra of Mother’s Public School, Bhubaneswar, bagging second rank in Science stream of CBSE Class XII in the eastern zone, the results of which were declared on Monday. Anshuman topped the examination in the State. Similarly, bringing laurels was Risha Bagchi of SAI International School, who emerged the region’s topper in Commerce stream with 95.6 pc.Anshuman, who scored 98.8 per cent marks, plans to join the Indian Institute of Technology. He has secured 2314th rank and plans to take up mechanical engineering. Mother’s Public School performed exceptionally well with a cent percent success rate. Of the 347 students who appeared for the examination in Science stream, 55 secured above 90 pc. Archit Panda followed Anshuman with 96 pc and Abhijit Kumar Das 95.6 pc. In Commerce stream too, the school scored a 100 with all 41 students clearing the examination. Three of them scored 90 pc plus while Aishwarya Rathi stood third in the State with 94.2 pc. Ellina Mishra (93.2 pc) and Akshita Patnaik (91 pc) were second and third. The students of SAI International excelled in both Science and Commerce streams. Sonali Sharma bagged the second rank with 94.4 pc followed by Harishankar Mohapatra and Pallavi Panigrahi at joint third with 93.4 pc score. All Commerce students secured first division with 90 pc securing more than distinction. At least 74 pc students scored A1 grade. In Science stream, Sibani Padhi was the school topper with 94.8 pc score followed by Sumeet Sahoo at 94.4 pc and Anmol Dalmia 94 pc. At least 96 pc Science students secured first division. The school also had more achievements to celebrate as Pallavi secured second rank in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), while Sonali Sharma stood 59th in the country. Three students of the school have already qualified for IIT 2012. DAV Public School, Chandrasekhapur, continued its dominance with 100 pc first division in Science stream. It also secured an all-time highest school average of 85.84 pc. Out of the 193 students who appeared in Science stream, 72 secured above 90 pc marks. Aditya Sekhar Acharya was the school topper with 96.2 pc while Abhisek Dash and Swayam Sidha Sarangi were jointly ranked second with 95.4 pc score. In the Commerce stream, 92.86 pc students cleared the examination with Milton Dash bagging the first position having scored 92.6 pc. Rajat Agarwal and Alice Dash were ranked second and third in the school with 92 pc and 91.6 pc score. In DPS Kalinga, Anshuman Swain topped the Science Stream with 95 pc, while Md Shah Faisal topped the Commerce stream with 94.6 pc. In the Humanities stream, Meghna Khurania was the topper with a 93.4 pc score. Three students - Amlan Patro, Anshuman Swain and Shruti Mohanty - have bagged ranks in IIT-JEE. In Class X examination, more than 50 pc students had scored a CGPA of 9 and above while more than 25 students had secured 10 CGPA. DAV Public School, Unit VIII, exhibited Similar excellence. All the 159 students cleared the examination in Science stream and the school made a record with an average of 85.67 pc. At least 54 students secured 90 pc and above whereas first class percentage was a whopping 98.7 pc. Interestingly, the top three positions were shared by three or more students each. Shreeman Arvin, Priyanka Naik and Syed Mustafa Jah were ranked first with 95.8 pc whereas Soumya Saswat Panda, Debasish Nayak, Debasmita Padhi and Mukul Preetam stood second with 95.2 pc. The third rank was held by Gunjan Sharma, Jyotirekha Mishra and NR Ashish who bagged 95 pc. The Commerce stream was topped by Nikhita Chinnari who scored 94.6 pc while Ajit Agarwal and Shristi Roy were joint second by scoring 93.6 pc followed by Medha Tibarewal with 93.4 pc. Fifty-four students had appeared in the Commerce stream and all cleared the test. Eleven students secured more than 90 pc. DAV Public School, Pokhariput, too held good score and registered a 100 pc result. All the 93 students bagged first class in Science stream. While Swastik Sovan Panda and Anwesha Choudhury bagged 95.6 pc to emerge joint toppers, Tapoja Ray and Prachi Mohapatra were ranked second with 95.4 pc. Shibalik Mohapatra, who secured 94.6 pc, was ranked third in the Science stream. In the Commerce stream, Akanksha Kapoor was the school topper with 93.8 pc score while Aditi Kini (89 pc) and Titikhya Mishta (88 pc) were ranked second and third. In its first batch, 18 students appeared for the test and 17 bagged first division. The Gouri Shankar Residential English Medium School at Sisupalgarh recorded 80 per cent success with Saunak Bera scoring 90 pc.
