CM proposes Police-Media Coordination Committee

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has sought the support of the media in the fight against social evils. Addressing the editors of both print and electronic media here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the government would take tough action against the evils such as financial frauds, sex rackets etc.The media has the responsibility to point out the mistakes of the government. The government would not ignore them owing to false pride, instead it would be more eager to rectify the mistakes committed, he said.The Chief Minister made it clear that the government was planning to form a Police-Media Coordination Committee in which the representatives of both the print and electronic media would be given representation.Minister K C Joseph, who is holding the Information and Public Relations Department, I PRD Secretary K J Mathew and PRD Director M Nandakumar were also present at the meeting.
